It’s been an interesting and edifying journey with Daniel these last two weeks, watching him respond to the suffering of world and the truth of God’s sovereignty. This week’s passage is complex and mysterious, and yet it’s theme is clear: we are to be awed at God’s greatness and love, and humbled at our own sin. Let’s pray for humility and joy this Sunday.
New Deacon Ministry at GracePoint
The members of GP voted unanimously to change our bylaws to incorporate the new office of Deacon in our church. We’re excited about this change and believe that it will greatly benefit our body. The plan for the elders now is two-fold: (1) Continue to process how best to use and train our new Deacons, and (2) To look for qualified candidates. Our hope is that we can vote on a the first slate of Deacons by the fall.
Construction Update and Prayer Request
Things are going great over at 25 Orchard Hill Rd. If you have not seen the most recent pictures of our construction project, head over to our Facebook page.
As I said on Sunday, we are aiming for our first Sunday there to be July 15th. That’s ambitious, and a lot of things have to come together to make it happen. Would you pray for this? And in short order we will be calling for volunteer effort to improve the landscaping, remodel the bathrooms and do a ton of painting.
All-Church Potluck this Sunday
Bring a main or side dish (or both) to share at our all-church potluck this Sunday after the service. We’ll provide the paper goods and drinks. And if the weather is nice, we can eat outside, so bring your lawn chairs and blankets!
