Josie And The Pussycats: Stop, Look, and Listen (The Capitol Recordings)

Josie and the Pussycats was a cartoon series about a multi-cultural, all-girl pop trio that solved mysteries between gigs.

In 1970, Capitol Records released the group’s only album. In 2001, Rhino Homemade re-released the album as a limited print run of five thousand copies, and included songs that had only been available as singles, alternative mixes, and several previously unreleased tracks. (Catalogue Number: RHM2 7783.)

The songs were performed by Cathy Dougher (Josie), Cherie Moor (Melody), and Patrice Holloway, sister of Motown R&B star Brenda Holloway (Valerie).

The CD can cost a minor fortune online, and took me forever to find a reasonably-priced copy.

For everyone else out there who wants to hear these recordings and doesn’t want to shell out $50.00+ for it, I put together a small selection of my favorite songs which you can listen to below…

  1. Hello there Chris, I just wanna say thank you for posting this and sharing your collection with us. I love the 70’s Josie & the Pussycats music and I have been tracking down this rare album for a long time. I was wondering if you could upload the rest of the album on a filehost site or even email me the songs? As previously stated I have been searching for this album for a long time and as you mentioned it’s pretty pricey and out of print. If you wouldn’t mind i’d love to have it if you could email me the song or upload them for download please.

enjoy the rest of your day
